STADIUM NOTES

     ESPN profiled Cardinals Owner Bill Bidwill's bid for a
multi-purpose dome.  Bidwill:  "[Other cities] still call.  But
we have no interest at this point in time.  But we do have to
look out for the long range interests of the football team"
("SportsCenter," ESPN, 1/21)....An editorial in Sunday's
Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE calls on local leaders to "forget" about
a referendum and "get moving" on building a new Twins stadium
(Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 1/21)....The current issue of BUSINESS
WEEK examines the trends in naming rights on sports facilities
(BUSINESS WEEK, 1/29)....Will McDonough floats the idea for a
sports lottery to pay debt service for a new Patriots stadium
(BOSTON GLOBE, 1/20).... A group formed by the Magic will study
Orlando Arena before recommending what renovations are needed and
who should pay.  Results should be completed about the same time
the team's 10-year lease expires (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 1/21).
