EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     The NBAPA has extended the contract of Exec Dir SIMON
GOURDINE for two more years, although attorneys representing
players who were unhappy with Gourdine's leadership during last
summer's lockout may challenge the move (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER,
12/28)....JEFFREY MAHL has been named Senior VP/Advertising Sales
for ESPN.  Mahl most recently was Senior VP/Sales & Marketing for
OCC Sports (ESPN)....JEFFREY GRIFFITHS has been named promotions
manager for Palace Sports and Entertainment Marketing.  Griffiths
will be responsible for promotional campaigns in conjunction with
TV radio and print for events at the Palace of Auburn Hills and
other Palace-owned facilities (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 12/26).
....Volume Services has promoted JEROME GREFER as Northwest
Regional VP.  Grefer most recently served as GM for Volume
Services at 3Com Park (Volume Services)....MIKE OBRZUT will head
a new Indianapolis office for Group W Sports Marketing and handle
all local ad sales for the Pacers new programming service (Group
W Sports)....PAUL THOMPSON has been named Public Relations Asst
for the CBA (CBA).
