FAN FRIENDLY: CORESTATES CENTER PROFILED

The emphasis at the $215M CoreStates Center will be on
friendliness towards the fans, according to the PHILADELPHIA
DAILY NEWS. Richard Ruben, President of Spectacor which owns the
arena, said the facility will generate $25M in revenue from
premium seating, but he noted ticket prices for Flyers games have
not been determined. Other details: There are 10 restrooms on
two public concourses, compared to four at the Spectrum next
door. All five of the concourses are twice as large as their
Spectrum counterparts. And while the lower inner bowl at the new
arena is the same size as the Spectrum's, the building is more
than twice as big. There are only 3,600 parking spaces at the
Spectrum, while the CoreStates Center will have 6,150 spaces when
completed (Bill Fleischman, PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 12/19).
