MSG NETWORK AND UNION STILL AT ODDS

Labor animosity between MSG Network's management and
unionized production workers "has worsened to the point where it
threatens to affect the networks nightly productions," according
to Phil Mushnick of the N.Y. POST. The 40 members of the IBEW
1212 who regularly work MSG telecasts "surprised management by
taking" Tuesday off on short notice -- the night of the Knicks'
home opener. The production staff that worked the game was
"entirely composed of union freelancers." IBEW 1212 has been
without a contract and "working under MSG-imposed work rules"
since September 1 (N.Y. POST, 11/9).
