BRANDWEEK PROFILES MARKETING FOR "DREAM TEAM'S SISTERS"

The USA Basketball Women's National Team's marketing
efforts, through NBA Properties, are profiled by BRANDWEEK's
Hillary Rosner, who calls it a "textbook example" of how to
"remake an existing but quiet property into a comprehensive high-
profile sponsorship package." The team has been "a marquee
opportunity for sponsors who have been supportive of women's
athletics in general, but who've never had a big mass market
focal point for marketing outside the Olympics traditional female
draw, gymnastics" (BRANDWEEK, 11/6). The latest INSIDE MEDIA also
profiles the USA Women's team, specifically Lifetime's
sponsorship of the club. IM's Reynolds & Brockinton write that
the network's involvement through airing player biographies is
Lifetime' "most extensive foray into sports" (INSIDE MEDIA, 11/1-
14).
