MEDIA NOTES

     Cablevision Systems Corp., which manages the operations of
Prime Network, NewSport and the SportsChannel Regional Network,
will hold a IPO of $300M of its Series I Cumulative Convertible
Exchangeable Preferred Stock and $250M "principal amount of its
Senior Subordinated notes due 2005."  Proceeds will go to reduce
bank debt and for general corporate purposes (GOULD MEDIA)....NBA
Entertainment will present "NBA Preview:  The Race for the Rings"
this Sunday on NBC.  The special previews all 29 teams and
contains features on Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan and others
(NBA)....This week's NBA "Inside Stuff" visits with Rebecca Lobo
and Bonnie Blair at Oshman's Sporting Goods in Minneapolis, which
is involved in helping women's athletics (NBA
Entertainment)....ESPN2 will broadcast the inaugural Atlantic
City Shootout on December 9 at 4:00 (Atlantic City
Shootout)....Washington DC-based BET Holding Inc., parent to
Black Entertainment Television, said profit in its fiscal fourth
quarter rose 26%, "capping a year in which earnings grew by 34%.
The company earned $4.9M compared with $3.9M in the same quarter
last year (WASHINGTON POST, 10/26).
