time ever, the first pitch for a World Series game will not take
place inside the ballpark. Space shuttle astronaut KEN BOWERSOX
will throw out the first ball inside Columbia before Game 5, with

O'DONNELL, a former actor, turned President/CEO of the Organizing
Committee for the '98 Goodwill Games, is profiled in CRAIN'S NEW
YORK BUSINESS. O'Donnell: "My job is to find a way to these
games distinctly New York. No matter where people are watching,
they are going to see the stamp of New York" (CRAIN'S NY, 10/16-
22)....David Letterman's correspondent for the World Series, nine
year-old SPARKY MORTIMER, had his first report last night from
Atlanta. Mortimer: "I said the games would be close and they
have been." In his monologue, Letterman noted Braves Owner TED
TURNER traded CHIPPER JONES and his wife JANE FONDA for SHARON
STONE ("Late Show," CBS, 10/23). ...."Entertainment Tonight" took
a look at ANDREW SHUE and his involvement with the MLS' L.A.
Galaxy. Shue modeled uniforms at MLS' recent press conference
and has said he may "come out of retirement" and play if his
"Melrose Place" schedule allows. Shue was All-American at
