     BONNIE BLAIR was honored as the Women's Sports Foundation's
Sportswoman of the Year for the second consecutive year at the
WSF Annual Dinner in New York Last night.  REBECCA LOBO was
chosen team Sportswoman of the Year (USA TODAY, 10/17)....The
Sports Marketing category of AD AGE's "Power 50" includes
profiles of IOC Marketing Dir MICHAEL PAYNE, F.A.M.E. Chair and
CEO DAVID FALK, Nike Dir of Sports Marketing STEVE MILLER, and
Reebok Sr. VP PETER MOORE (AD AGE, 10/16)....DAVE GAVITT has been
named the '95 recipient of the Edward Steitz Award given to
individuals for their contributions to int'l basketball (USA
Basketball)....President-elect SYLVIA ALLEN of the Women In
Sports & Events is profiled in the "On a Roll" section of AD AGE
(AD AGE, 10/16 issue)....Bulls Head Coach PHIL JACKSON is
interviewed in MEN'S JOURNAL following the publication of his
book "Sacred Hoops: Spiritual Lessons of a Hardwood Warrior"
(MEN'S JOURNAL, 11/95 issue)....JOE MONTANA joined David
Letterman in throwing footballs through cab windows ("Late Show,"
CBS, 10/16).  Montana came up about 1,000 short in the "great
book battle of Midtown," with COLIN POWELL signed more than 1,500
copies of his autobiography across the street at Barnes & Noble
(N.Y. POST, 10/17).... Several DC athletes, including CHRIS
WEBBER, JUWAN HOWARD, RASHEED WALLACE, CALBERT CHEANEY, DOUG
OVERTON and MITCHELL BUTLER, and 17 Redskins, attended
yesterday's Million Man March.  ROCK NEWMAN was a speaker
(WASHINGTON POST, 10/17).
