DEBATE ON WHAT TO DO WITH OAKLAND COLISEUM BOARD TURNS UGLY

     Gearing up for tomorrow's debate on the fate of the Oakland
Coliseum's board, members of the Oakland City Council and the
Alameda County Board of Supervisors  exchanged threats this
weekend.  Robert Salladay of the OAKLAND TRIBUNE reports
Councilmember Ignacio De La Fuente threatened to release an audit
showing Coliseum President George Vukasin wasting taxpayer money
in promoting himself.  Meanwhile, Vukasin "prepared to release
his own counterattack," warning that politicians "could sabotage
negotiations" with the Warriors and the A's.  Vukasin called for
an independent audit of a city and county plan to seize
"absolute" control of the Coliseum.  Salladay reports that
Warriors and A's officials have said they "do not want to
negotiate with politicians" (OAKLAND TRIBUNE, 10/15).
