AT THE GATE AND AROUND THE DIAL: THE NHL TEAM-BY-TEAM

     With the NHL set to begin its 78th season tonight, THE DAILY
surveyed each team on changes in ticket prices and the status of
their TV and radio contracts.
     The numbers after each TV and radio outlet signify the year
and term of the contract.  A range of ticket prices is provided
for the teams that would not release the average price or the
number of seats available in each price range.  All prices for
Canadian teams are in C$ (THE DAILY).

     NOTES (^):  The Bruins own 32% of NESN, but still
renegotiate each year to determine revenues.  WCMQ-AM is in the
first year of a 2-year extention with the Panthers.  The deal
began in '93-94.  XTRA has the option to extend its contract with
the Kings through '97-98.  The Senators' price of C$42 is for the
Civic Center.  The average price at the new Palladium will be
C$36.15.  SportsChannel Pacific is currently renegotiating a
multi-year deal with the Sharks.  KMOX's deal with the Blues
began in '67 and runs through '99-00. They did not broadcast in
'85-86 or '86-87.
