WEISENBERGER has been elected President of the National
Association of Athletic Development Directors.  He is Associate
AD at Wake Forest (NAADD)....The Mets have agreed on a two-year
contract with GM JOE MCILVAINE....The Red Wings named recently
retired player MARK HOWE as an Assistant to the Hockey Department
(SportsTicker)....RANDY SMITH has reportedly resigned as GM of
the Padres.  Orioles Asst GM FRANK ROBINSON is the leading
candidate to replace him, while Smith is believed to be on the
Orioles' list to replace GM ROLAND HEMOND (WASHINGTON POST,
9/29).
