ORIOLES' THANK THEIR 3 MILLION LOYAL FANS

Despite their disappointing play on the field, the Orioles
will be the only team to draw more than 3 million fans this
season. To thank their loyal fans, the team is holding a "Thank
You" weekend. Among the highlights: a commemorative Cal Ripken
poster give-away on Friday; a home-run hitting contest and
fireworks on Saturday; and official player jersey -- gray, black
and home white -- give-aways to random fans all weekend
(Baltimore SUN, 9/29).
STREAK MEMORABILIA: According to several dealers and avid
Ripken collectors, most "Streak Week" souvenirs will not be
money-makers. Dealers and collectors says some items, such as
tickets stubs, posters and other limited edition material will
"retain value," but not the items "off supermarket shelves"
(Baltimore SUN, 9/29).
