UT THE BOTTOM OF THE CUP, BROUGHT TO YOU BY ...

Links, Inc., a CT-based company which promotes ads in the bottom
of golf holes, is featured by Anthony Ramirez in today's N.Y.
TIMES.  Partners Jim Keenan and John Hoyt have signed 35 of CT's
89 golf courses to use the ads which appear on the bottom of cup.
Their clients include Quaker Oats' Snapple, Citibank and local
Ford dealers. among others.  Enticements for a course include
promotion of golf etiquette and the course itself, but also the
20% share of the revenue from Links Inc., which charges $125-650
a hole, depending on the length of the deal.  Keenan says ad
revenue averages $500 a hole over a season (N.Y. TIMES, 9/27).
