IRS PROBING MORE BASEBALL LEGENDS FROM '89 SHOW

The IRS is investigating other "well-known former players"
who participated in a '89 autograph show in Atlantic City,
according to the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. Michael Sokolove reports
the probe, which has already led to the criminal prosecution of
Pete Rose, Willie McCovey and Duke Snider, is continuing with the
six-year statute of limitations expiring next April. Charles
Franssen, Chief of the IRS's criminal investigation division,
expects more indictments and said at least two of the former
stars who participated in the show have been granted immunity for
aiding the investigation (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 9/24).
