REMEMBER THE ALAMODOME? SPURS TO WORK WITH CITY ON REVENUES

Spurs President Jack Diller said the team will continue to
talk with the San Antonio City Council, despite the council's
opposition to renegotiating terms of the Alamodome lease. Asked
if he was disappointed with the council's position, Diller
replied, "I never said we wanted to renegotiate. The city has
asked us to sit down and find ways to see if the Spurs can remain
economically viable." Diller said "everything is on the table"
in an effort to "bolster the team's revenues." The Spurs
reported Wednesday that without a playoff appearance this year,
they could lose close to $3.3M. Diller suggested a new seating
arrangement, but "sidestepped questions about whether the team
was still interested" in a new arena (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS NEWS,
9/22).
