CHILL THOSE KEGS! BEER AND FOOTBALL HIT CAROLINA ON SUNDAY

The SC Supreme Court refused a request from a Clemson church
late yesterday to halt beer sales at Clemson's Memorial Stadium
on Sundays during Panthers games. Jeff Schultz reports in this
morning's ATLANTA CONSTITUTION that although the team will be
20,000 short of a sellout this Sunday, the expansion team is
"having a pronounced effect" on the small town known for its
university. As for the non-sellout, Panthers President Mike
McCormick took a glass is "half-full" approach, noting the
expected crowd of around 60,000 is higher than one that set a
record in St. Louis last weekend. McCormick: "Maybe we had too
high expectations in terms of looking where Clemson sits in our
market" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/15).
