MEDIA NOTES

     While negotiations between Turner Broadcasting and Time
Warner "are heating up and going well, no one close to the talks
expects an agreement until at least next week," according to the
ATLANTA CONSTITUTION.  The "sticking point is control," with
talks revolving around how to make TBS Chair Ted Turner, Time
Warner Chair Gerald Levin and TCI Chair John Malone "equal
partners" in the new company (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/14)....Walt
Disney and Cap Cities/ ABC said that the Justice Dept. has asked
for additional information before ruling on the companies'
proposed merger (N.Y. TIMES, 9/14)....The IHL's national TV debut
will be the Minnesota Moose-L.A. Ice Dogs on SportsChannel
October 1.  In addition to SportsChannel's eight regional
networks, the game will be available over Prime Network.
SportsChannel will originate as many as 21 IHL telecasts this
year, including the All-Star Game on January 12-13 and a game of
the week beginning March 16 (IHL)....Twenty Orlando Solar Bears'
inaugural season games will be televised on the Sunshine Network
(ORLANDO SENTINEL, 9/14).  ....Fred Couples joins ESPN for the
Senior Tour Vantage Championship September 29-October 1 (USA
TODAY, 9/14).... ESPN released its '95-96 women's NCAA basketball
schedule, including eight exhibitions against the U.S. Women's
National Team on both ESPN and ESPN2 (ESPN).
