USA TODAY TO LAUNCH NEWS SERVICE ON MICROSOFT NETWORK

     USA Today will launch a "regularly updated" news and info
service on The Microsoft Network.  USA Today President &
Publisher Tom Curley:  "The online service is as vibrant and user
friendly as our newspaper and has the added benefit of allowing
our customers to get all their sports, weather and other news
when they want it -- in more depth and with more timeliness than
the newspaper can offer."  MSN's Russell Siegelman noted the "up-
to-the-minute sports coverage" the service will provide.  USA
Today will continue to offer its stand-alone electronic service,
including Internet access, which is accessible through special
software for $12.95/month.  For a limited time, the MSN service
will be free (USA Today/Microsoft).
