BREWERS LOAN NOT QUITE DONE; GAMING PROCEEDS TO BE USED?

A $50M loan the WI Housing and Economic Development
Authority (WHEDA) needed by the Brewers to pay more than half
their $90M upfront contribution for a new stadium "is not a done
deal," according to Amy Rinard of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL.
If the Legislature authorizes the WHEDA to make the loan, staff
and outside consultants "will review the team's finances and the
structure of the stadium financing deal and -- especially -- the
team's prospects for paying back the loan" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL
SENTINEL, 8/24).
