$400 and up, including their market share: Trek 24%; Cannondale
12%; Specialized 12%; Schwinn 7% (USA TODAY, 8/8)....Rick
Morrisey profiled "The Marketing of Sports" in the ROCKY MOUNTAIN
NEWS.  Morrisey writes that teams "mean business with a new
approach to games -- they're now shopping colors, logos, mascots"
(ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 8/6)....Polo Ralph Lauren is making their
first venture into tennis as the official sportswear sponsor of
the '95 Volvo Int'l Tennis Tournament held in New Haven, CT this
month. Polo will replace Starter Corp....A new marathon in
Chicago, the Windy City Int'l, scheduled for August 8, has been
cancelled due to "difficulties in securing permits."  SportsTrek,
PepsiCo and the American Medical Association were among the
announced sponsors (AD AGE, 8/7).
