L.A. GEAR JOINS NIKE ON THE STREET HOCKEY FRONTIER

7.26.1995

     Joining Nike's push into the street hockey market,
Chiat/Day, Venice, CA launches L.A. Gear's first street hockey ad
campaign this week, according to AD WEEK.  The new campaign,
promoting L.A. Gear's "99" street hockey shoe, targets kids and
emphasizes the "hipness of the company's Wayne Gretzky line."
The campaign debuts on "kids shows" on ABC, Fox, TNT and other
networks, and is supplemented with print ads in Marvel Comics and
the For Kids Club Magazine (AD WEEK, 7/17 issue).
