RAIDERS APPROVAL LEAVES RAMS ASKING "WHAT ABOUT US?"

Rams President John Shaw said the team may consider legal
action against the NFL or "perhaps holding up and putting into
escrow" a November relocation fee payment due to the league.
Shaw said the NFL's lack of action in regards to the Raiders
after they charged the Rams a $29M relocation fee and $17M in PSL
money is inconsistent (Lorraine Kee, ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH,
7/23). Bernie Miklasz writes, "If Davis had decided to move to
St. Louis, would he be surrendering $29 million to the NFL? I
think not. Davis terrifies the NFL boys." Miklasz calls for the
Rams to "refuse to pay one nickel" of the fee (ST. LOUIS POST-
DISPATCH, 7/24). In L.A., Mike Penner writes that Shaw "should
have argued that the Rams aren't relocating to St. Louis, they're
merely stopping over on their way back home to Cleveland" (L.A.
TIMES, 7/23).
