CALL THE PAPER AND CANCEL THE AD; ASTROS ARE OFF THE MARKET

     Astros Owner Drayton McLane Jr. said Tuesday he has
reconsidered and has decided not to sell a minority interest in
the Astros, according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE.  McLane: "Our
decision is not to sell any equity interest at this time.  We
thought that was important with the uncertainty in major-league
baseball right now."  McLane had been negotiating with Ben and
Jeff Love and Bob Ornstead, who were part of a group trying to
buy the Astros from McLane three years ago.  McLane has not ruled
out the possibility of having limited investors in the future
(Terry Blount, HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/19).
