WHITE SOX TO SWITCH LEAGUES -- FROM GRAPEFRUIT TO CACTUS

     Representatives of the Southern AZ Sports Development Corp.
have said that they have been told the White Sox "informally have
agreed" to share a proposed $25M spring training facility in
Tuscon with the Diamondbacks.  Steve Thrush, a member of the
corporation, said the Diamondbacks and White Sox have agreed to
pay $300,000 a year for the new stadium's cost.  Through a
representative, White Sox Owner Jerry Reinsdorf said he "has had
no contact or offer" to move.  Diamondbacks President Jerry
Colangelo, however, "did not deny" that he has reached a verbal
agreement with Reinsdorf (Dan Bickley, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 6/28).
