     Redskins first round pick MICHAEL WESTBROOK has dropped
agent JOEL SEGAL, over "philosophical differences."  Redskins GM
CHARLIE CASSERLY said he didn't think Westbrook has found a
replacement (WASHINGTON TIMES, 5/24)....Mets Pitcher JOHN FRANCO
is promoting Special Olympics in the New York area.  Franco will
also serve as Honorary Head Coach at the Metro Special Olympics
Tournament June 4 in Brooklyn (N.Y. POST, 5/24)....Suns and
Diamondbacks Owner JERRY COLANGELO has created a baseball museum
to be housed in the Bank One Ballpark called Cooperstown West
(CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 5/24)....The latest edition of SI features a
cover story on DENNIS RODMAN and his personal life (SI)....LARRY
LUCCHINO, new part-owner and CEO of the Padres, is profiled by
Mark Hyman in the Baltimore SUN.  Lucchino won't discuss details
of his deal with Padres Owner JOHN MOORES, but he is said to have
10% stake with an option to earn another 10%.  According to
"sources familiar with the deal," Lucchino can also leave the
Padres after one year.  But Lucchino admits reviving the Padres
"has been a bigger challenge than I thought" (Baltimore SUN,
5/22)....On "The Tonight Show," MAGIC JOHNSON said he hopes to
play in Atlanta in '96 and that a return to the NBA "might
happen" (NBC, 5/23).
