PERMANENT SEAT LICENSING KEY TO TAMPA STADIUM EFFORTS

The Tampa Sports Authority (TSA) is hiring Max Muhleman,
"pioneer" of the permanent seat license, to "convince fans that
buying Bucs' season tickets is a sound, long-term investment,"
according to Jim Kenyon of the TAMPA TRIBUNE. Muhleman estimates
that nearly $100M can be raised in Tampa through PSLs, premium
seating and stadium advertising. Ownership has stated that
renovating Tampa Stadium has "no appeal," and new stadium costs
are estimated at $175M. Muhleman has been successful with PSLs
in Charlotte and St. Louis, and is optimistic about Tampa.
Muhleman: "Florida is a great football state. There are
probably 100,000 people in the area ready to buy season tickets
with any encouragement or sense that the team is on the verge of
becoming successful" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 5/20).
