SPORTRONICS RADIOS OF DENVER HAS HOT SELLER ON HAND

Denver-based Sportronics Radio Inc. is the profile of the
Small Business section of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS. The company
has patented the idea of putting team logos on portable radios.
Before convincing college and major league teams to license their
logos, Sportronics had to "trademark their name, its logo and
slogan ('Don't just watch ... listen'), patent the product and
look at prototypes." They came up with a lightweight, three-inch
by two-inch AM/FM radio with headphones and belt clip that
retails for $15 to $25 at the stadium and ballpark. The NBA, MLB
and "about two dozen college teams" have signed up with
Sportronics (David Lewis, ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 5/15).
