SHIFT IN BROADCAST CARRIERS IN THE STARS FOR DALLAS HOCKEY

The Stars will shift their TV home to KDFW and KDFI for next
season. The stations, which have a limited marketing agreement,
will carry 35 Stars games next year, five more than each of the
past two seasons. KDFW becomes a Fox affiliate in July. KTVT
and KXTA have carried Stars' games since the team's move to
Dallas, but KTVT's July switch to a CBS affiliation would not
allow for prime-time Stars programming. Last month, the
Mavericks also announced a move to KDFW and KDFI, and the
"majority" of Cowboys games will be seen on Fox's KDFW. KDFW GM
David Whitaker: "It is our intent to build KDFW and KDFI into
sports powerhouses" (Barry Horn, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 5/11).
