INVESTOR SAYS MN "WILL COME THROUGH" IF NHL GIVES CHANCE

Twin Cities-investor Harvey Mackay, "a leader" in MN's bid
to bring the NHL to the Target Center, says there would be "an
excellent chance" of landing the Jets if they leave Winnipeg.
Mackay, who met with Jets officials last weekend, said yesterday
he believes the area could put together the $75M the team could
cost (Vancouver PROVINCE, 4/25).
STOP FOR MOOSE: If the Jets leave Winnipeg for the MN,
"suggestions have been made" that the IHL Minnesota Moose move to
Winnipeg, according to this morning's WINNIPEG FREE PRESS. Kelly
Taylor reports that IHL spokesperson Tim Bryant said "that
wouldn't be a bad idea. ... Moving would probably be the right
thing for the Moose to do if the NHL moved into their market."
However, Bryant said there has been no interest from Winnipeg
(WINNIPEG FREE PRESS, 4/25).
