FRIENDS OF MCNALL STAND UP BEFORE SENTENCING

Friends of former L.A. Kings Owner Bruce McNall are
soliciting donations to raise money to make sure "strong
supporting statements" are delivered before a judge sentences
him. The letter is signed by Harold Baldwin, Chair of the
Penguins, and Rogie Vachon, current Kings President. In the
letter to raise funds, Baldwin and Vachon write that McNall does
not have "funds for the legal expenses incurred during this very
difficult time." Jim Proudfoot writes that "anybody who owns an
NHL club is in McNall's debt." He helped make hockey popular in
CA with the success of the Kings, and "a lot of people made a lot
of money as a result of McNall's vision" (TORONTO STAR, 3/31).
