     Sprint, and its cable TV partners TCI, Comcast and Cox
Communications, announced that they would invest $4.4B in the
"biggest challenge yet to the Baby Bells and the GTE Corp" (N.Y.
TIMES, 3/30)....U.S. House and Senate conferees agreed to end a
special tax benefit program that would have given Viacom Inc. a
"huge deferral" from selling stations to minority buyers
(WASHINGTON POST, 3/20)....SportsChannel has announced that
former Giants broadcaster Joe Morgan is moving to A's coverage
(SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 3/30).... Empire Sports has released its
New York State AAA baseball schedule.  The Buffalo Bisons,
Rochester Red Wings and Syracuse Chiefs will all make appearances
(Empire).... MultiVision Cable TV of Anaheim will carry La Cadena
Deportiva beginning tomorrow.  The spanish-language sports
network is an affiliate of Prime (Prime Deportiva)....The
Nashville Network has expanded its live NASCAR racing TV schedule
with the addition of the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series in
Greeneville-Pickens, SC (NASCAR).
