JORDAN PRACTICING WITH BULLS; WILL HE RETIRE FROM BASEBALL?

While MICHAEL JORDAN was still not talking about his future,
he did practice with his old Bulls teammates. Meanwhile, the
White Sox extended his deadline to return to spring training.
Bulls GM Jerry Krause and White Sox GM Ron Schueler both denied
knowledge of another "career switch" for the superstar. Schueler,
who has not heard from Jordan since his "unexpected departure,"
extended the deadline for Jordan a second time, giving him until
Saturday to rejoin the other minor-leaguers who chose not to play
in exhibition games. Schueler on what happens if he doesn't
return: "I'd guess that he'd be retired." White Sox/Bulls Chair
Jerry Reinsdorf discounted reports that Jordan was quitting
baseball: "He told me last December: 'Don't pay attention to
rumors. If I decide I want to quit, I'll let you know'" (Sullivan
& Armour, CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 3/9).
