     DAVID ROBINSON was joined by DENNIS RODMAN, now sporting
orange hair with an arrow shaved into it, during an appearance on
Friday's "Tonight Show."  Robinson, asked if the two spend time
together off the court: "We don't hit the same spots" (NBC,
1/6)....NBC's WILL MCDONOUGH reported that BILL WALSH will take a
consultant job with the NFL helping the league with the new WLAF
that starts this spring ("NFL Live," NBC, 1/7)....IBM is expected
to announce a major top management shake-up today (Mult.,
1/9)....The Rams could name Raiders asst coach STEVE ORTMAYER as
their new VP/Football Operations as early as Wednesday (L.A.
TIMES, 1/8)....Sunday's NEW YORK TIMES MAGAZINE profiled the
49ers and how they mastered the salary cap.  Regarding the
signing of DEION SANDERS, Allen Barra writes "No one seriously
doubts that Nike kicked in more than enough in Deion's shoe
contract to make up whatever he lost in his football contract;
after all the sight of their man doing his touchdown dance on a
Super Bowl broadcast would be the sports advertising coup of the
year (N.Y. TIMES MAGAZINE, 1/8)...SANDRA PASTOOR is leaving
Paramount Channel 20 in Washington to become VP/Affiliate
Relations for the new United Paramount Network (WASHINGTON POST,
1/9)....A branch of the Mexican government created to boost
tourism has been working with JACK NICKLAUS's golf-course design
company  (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 1/7)....Walt Disney CEO MICHAEL
EISNER reportedly earned a $7.3M bonus during the company's 1994
fiscal year.  The bonus, combined with $750,000 base salary,
$2.6M in stock, and $9,730 in other compensation, brought his
total compensation to about $10.7M (L.A. TIMES, 1/7). ....A book
by O.J. SIMPSON, discussing spousal abuse, his ex-wife and his
innocence will be published next month (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/8).
...SCOTTIE PIPPEN spoke out on this year's NBA rule changes
saying that they have "made the NBA game inferior to the college
game" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/8).
