ManU manager says club owners have apologized

ManU Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he received a personal apology from the Glazers over the club's "intended participation in the Super League." United Co-Chair Joel Glazer was listed as one of the co-chairs of the Super League and "voiced his support for the breakaway concept in an introductory statement." Co-Chair Avram Glazer has twice refused to apologize for his family's conduct. Joel Glazer has issued an open apology letter to ManU fans. When asked whether the Glazers "should communicate better," Solksjaer said, "I’ve been communicating with the owners. I've got an apology personally. They have apologized to the fans. I know that communication has started between other individuals than me and the fans" (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 5/5).

ManU's manager said of the protests that forced Sunday's match against Liverpool to be postponed, "It's everyone's right to protest. It has to be in a civilized manner, though. It has to be in a peaceful manner. Unfortunately, when you break in, when police officers get injured, scarred for life, that's too far. That's one step too far" (BBC, 5/5).

Solskjaer "made it abundantly clear" that the Glazer family bears "full responsibility for the fiasco and that they must do a better job communicating with the fans in the future." Solskjaer: "We need to communicate better as a club. I know our fans would want a team that is likable" (NBC SPORTS, 5/5).

ManU's EPL clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford, which was postponed on Sunday after protesting supporters invaded the stadium, has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 13 at 8:15pm BST. The new date means ManU will play "three games in the space of five days:" an EPL match at Aston Villa on May 9, a home EPL match vs. Leicester City on May 11 and the Liverpool match two days later (ESPN.com, 5/5).
