Euro 2020 matches can be postponed 48 hours

Euro 2020 matches this summer can be "postponed by up to 48 hours" if the teams involved are hit by a serious COVID-19 outbreak or are forced to quarantine. UEFA has announced the temporary rule and confirmed that each country can have 26 players in its squad for the tournament instead of the usual 23, so that any player who tests positive for COVID-19 before their national team’s opening match can be replaced. However, matches will "only be postponed if a team has fewer than 13 players, including one goalkeeper, available for selection." If that is the case, the game can be “rescheduled within the next 48 hours of the date of the relevant match” and replacements can be called up from outside the squad. There will "not be much flexibility for postponements, however, given that the tournament will be 51 games in 31 days" (LONDON TIMES, 5/4).
