Man City Owner CFG Suspends Plans To Buy French Club Nancy

Ligue 2 side Nancy President Jacques Rousselot said he is "worried" after negotiations with Man City owner City Football Group over the club's proposed sale have been "suspended" due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nancy's sale to CFG was "supposed to be finalized" in early April for a fee of around €14M ($15.2M). CFG officials said they "still want to acquire" Nancy, but added there are "aspects we don't control ... in the face of a global crisis" (L'EQUIPE, 4/26). 

Meanwhile, the 45-day exclusive negotiation period between Ligue 1 club Toulouse and a Chinese-American consortium led by ex-Nice and current League Championship side Barnsley Owner Chien Lee has expired without a deal between the two parties. A "turnaround in the negotiations" is unlikely, and current Toulouse President Olivier Sadran is "expected to remain as President" through next season (L'EQUIPE, 4/26).
