Dodger Stadium workers may strike during All-Star

Dodger Stadium concession workers "could go on strike" in advance of next week’s MLB All-Star Game, according to the union representing those workers. Of the food and beverage workers at the ballpark, 99% on Sunday voted to "authorize a strike." Unite Here spokesperson Maria Hernandez in a statement said the strike could begin “at any time.” All-Star festivities at Dodger Stadium begin Saturday, with the Futures Game. The workers are employed by the ballpark's concessionaire, Chicago-based Levy Restaurants. The union represents close to 1,500 workers, and it said that they are seeking “a fair new union contract” (L.A. TIMES, 7/11).
