MLB Hires Former Cubs Exec Theo Epstein As Consultant

MLB hired former Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein as a "consultant regarding on-field matters." At the time, Epstein "expressed interest in owning an MLB team one day." But for now, Epstein will have a "direct line" to Commissioner Rob Manfred and have a "significant voice in potential rule changes" (NBCSPORTSBOSTON.com, 1/14).
