Fire Will Retire Unpopular Current Logo After '21 MLS Season

The Fire have announced they will “unveil a new crest in time for the 2022 season,” which will be their 25th year in MLS. The current badge, which was released in November ’19 and “loathed by fans and mocked by neutrals,” will appear on jerseys this season and then be retired. The new Fire logo will be a collaboration between soccer designer Matthew Wolff, brand design and consulting firm Studio/lab and sports marketing agency rEvolution. Fire Senior VP/Marketing Kyle Sheldon “will lead the project.” Fans also will be “heavily involved in the new look,” as roundtable discussions will be held and surveys will be distributed (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 1/8).
