Georgia Athletics Makes Josh Brooks Full-Time AD

Univ. of Georgia interim AD Josh Brooks is "getting the job full-time," as UGA announced today he would take over Greg McGarity's role. Brooks "had not served even a week as interim AD, a position he began Jan. 1." Brooks was "viewed as a leading candidate to replace McGarity when there was speculation in the last year on when McGarity may finally step away from the job." The move will be "popular among many former Georgia athletes." The school "employed Todd Turner and his firm Collegiate Sports Associates in the search." Darrice Griffin will succeed Brooks as Senior Deputy AD (ATHENS BANNER-HERALD, 1/6).

THE ATHLETIC recently profiled Brooks and detailed his rise to then-interim AD.
