USTA Appoints Michael McNulty As BOD Chair & President

Michael McNulty was unveiled today as the USTA's new BOD Chair & President. McNulty assumes the role held by Patrick Galbraith overseeing a board that begins two-year terms on Jan. 1, 2021, and will have to grapple with likely funding shortfalls due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a '20 US Open held without fans. The new board includes five former professional tennis players, four women of color and four members either currently practicing law or possessing law degrees.

Kurt Zumwalt was Amazon's treasurer for five years until '19 and is serving his second term on the board, while new addition Kathleen Francis was formerly the USTA's Managing Dir for Community Tennis Marketing & Development and currently is the National BOD Chair & President of Women in Sports and Events. Longtime board member Dr. Brian Hainline assumes the board VP role for the first time; Hainline is the NCAA's Chief Medical Officer, a role he formerly held at the US Open tennis championships.
