Golden Knights Innovate With New Metallic Gold 3rd Jersey

Golden Knights

The Golden Knights on Friday debuted their third jersey via social media with a "Viva Las Vegas" music video collaboration featuring Wayne Newton and rapper Lil Jon, both fans of the three-year-old franchise. VGK CMO Brian Killingsworth said the club worked with Adidas on a new material that has never been used, characterizing it as a “metallic knit iteration” of the brand’s adizero authentic jersey. “It’s truly reflective and shines under the lights. Adidas really pushed the envelope here on innovation,” said Killingsworth, adding that the franchise believes it’s the first of its kind in sports.

According to Killingsworth, the vision for the club’s third jersey began in '17 with owner Bill Foley and him wanting a third sweater that was “bold, bright and reflective of Vegas.” The two-year process featured multiple rounds of testing. Killingsworth worked closely with the Adidas Hockey group, namely Global Head of Adidas Hockey & Lacrosse Dan Near, Dir of Hockey Relations Nic Corbett and Global Senior Brand Manager Jason Berry.

With the launch, the team is also offering for sale 777 gold treasure boxes through their flagship store in Vegas, each containing a customizable jersey and limited-edition gold coin. Some boxes will include Golden Knights-gold Adidas Boost shoes at an additional cost.
