DraftKings' Matt Kalish Bullish On Deals With Cubs, Jordan

DraftKings co-Founder Matt Kalish today talked about the company's recent deals with the Cubs and Michael Jordan, saying the company will be "building hopefully one of the best sportsbooks in the country within a five-block perimeter of Wrigleyville.” Kalish:  “We’re also really excited about the marketing aspect of the deal.” He added Illinois is "one of the biggest, most important sports betting markets in the country so the partnership is really essential to our success in that state.”

Kalish: “Who wouldn't want Michael Jordan around the table advising you on strategy, talking with the board, helping with initiatives throughout our company? He’s obviously the top of probably everyone’s list of marketing geniuses, branding geniuses, who you’d want to collaborate with." Kalish acknowledged Jordan is an NBA team owner, and "that has obligations," however, "every way we can possibly work with Michael in every aspect, we’re going to be doing that” (“Squawk on the Street,” CNBC, 9/3).
