PGA Tour Unveils Packed Schedule For '20-21 Season

The PGA Tour today unveiled its full '20-21 schedule, and after a year with so many calendar changes, next season is noteworthy in that it includes three events postponed from '20. The U.S. Open, Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship and The Masters are to be played in the fall portion of the '20-21 season and then played again in their traditional dates during the '21 calendar year. Today's schedule release also includes 11 tournaments that were canceled and not rescheduled as a result of the pandemic, including The Players Championship. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said in a statement, “Building our schedule is always complicated, but never more so as over the past several months.”

Overall it is a packed calendar with 50 sponsored events, the most since '75, with the Tour dubbing it the “Super Season” amid the return of 14 tournaments that were canceled or postponed due to the pandemic. The schedule begins next week with the Safeway Open in Napa and ends with the Tour Championship next Labor Day. The season also will feature golf in the Tokyo Games with the men’s competition set for July 26-Aug. 1, the first time as a standalone event.
