Mark Cuban Talks NBA Restart, Potential Schedule Changes

Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban today said he has "no idea" when the NBA will restart, adding, "We’re going to put safety first and not take any chances.” He also said the idea of playing in a single-site format "sounds great to me." Cuban: "America needs sports. ... Whatever we can make happen, I’m pro doing it.” He said playing regular-season games during the summer is "something that I’ve been asking for" for more than 10 years: "I’ve always thought we should start on Christmas and go into the summer, but the response has always been that our television partners don’t want that.”

Cuban, on the possibility of cutting player salaries: “Every single owner is in a different financial position. I think people look at the owners and say, ‘Wow, we own this multi-billion-dollar-value team,’ but what they don’t realize is … a lot of their other businesses are just getting destroyed.” Cuban: “I know when (Adam Silver) and the (NBPA) talk about it, that will be in consideration” (“Get Up,” ESPN, 4/1).
