New U.S. Soccer Leaders Prioritize Settling USWNT Suit

Newly installed U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone and CEO Will Wilson today used their "first news conference to say that settling" the equal pay lawsuit filed by USWNT players is "their priority." Wilson said wording in the federation's recent legal filing was "quite frankly shocking and very, very disappointing to me.'' Cone also said that the USSF is "open to having the women and men negotiate together for a common labor deal," but the decision is "up to the two unions" (AP, 3/24).
