Rob Manfred Responds To Astros' Comments On Sign Stealing

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred this afternoon responded to Astros Owner Jim Crane's comment that the team's sign stealing did not impact its '17 World Series win, telling THE DAILY that the "approach of transparency and letting people make their own judgement is the best." Manfred: "We have an obligation as a league to be as transparent as possible, to get the facts out there so that our fans understand what happened. I think they need to make a judgement as to how those facts impacted the outcome of the games."

Asked if he believed the sign stealing impacted the outcome of games, Manfred said, "With activity of that type, most players agree that it provides an advantage and that's why it's prohibited under our rules."
