Braves Unveil Truist Park Name Following Banks' Recent Merger

The Braves and Truist Bank today "made the announcement" that the team's home venue will now be called Truist Park following the merger of SunTrust and BB&T. Today's announcement comes after Truist yesterday "introduced a new purple logo that will replace SunTrust's familiar blue-and-orange logo." Workers last week "began removing stadium signs bearing the 'SunTrust Park' name." There are "about 150 such signs that eventually will have to be removed and replaced" (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 1/14).

Reviews on the Braves' Facebook feed, as well as on other social media, "were mostly negative" (CNN.com, 1/14). The AJC's Jeff Schultz tweeted, "Don't get too attached. It will change with the next bank merger" (TWITTER.com, 1/14).
