LSU Cancels Two Days Of Classes Around CFP Title Game

With the LSU-Clemson CFP title game kicking off tonight at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, LSU's Board of Supervisors "canceled the first and second day of classes" today and tomorrow. The cancelation is "only for the flagship Baton Rouge campus." All other LSU campuses in the state "will have class as scheduled, and their academic calendars won't change." A Clemson spokesperson said that "its campus will take the same approach as it has previously and hold classes as scheduled" (Baton Rouge ADVOCATE, 1/10).

Meanwhile, the city of Clemson, S.C., is "again relaxing its open container of alcohol laws for a street party" around the title game. Local police will "close down streets" at 5:00pm ET, and "set up viewing screens" for the game. Police said that "no outside alcohol can be brought to the party" (AP, 1/12).
