UK-Utah Hoops Gets Late 11:00pm ET Tipoff Time On ESPN2

Tonight's Kentucky-Utah men's basketball game, part of the Neon Hoops Showcase at T-Mobile Arena, will air on ESPN2 at 11:00pm ET. Bd Global Founder & President Brooks Downing, whose sports marketing firm is staging the game, said that the reason for the late start is because ESPN2 is "televising another game before UK-Utah." That game is North Carolina at Gonzaga, and it starts at 9:00pm. Downing said, "I’m sure they were trying to keep both games as evening tips." Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak said the reason for the late tipoff is because its "all driven by what TV wants to do." He added, "It's not really designed for [the UK] audience. It's a West Coast deal" (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 12/18).
